MINISTERS' STATEMENTS

36 (1) Ministers' Statements

A Minister may make a factual announcement or statement of Government policy.

(2) Copies to Clerk

Each Minister’s statement shall be provided to the Clerk in advance of the House sitting for distribution to all Members at the time the statement is delivered in the Assembly.

(3) Statement moved to Committee of the Whole

Any Member may, without notice, move a Minister’s Statement into Committee of the Whole for discussion immediately following the conclusion of Ministers’ Statements on the day that the statement is delivered in the Assembly.

(4) Time limit

The time allotted for Ministers’ Statements shall not exceed twenty minutes.
